The Last Callahan

SYNOPSIS

In the wild west of present day rural Ireland Saoirse Callahan, a middle aged “spinster” spends her days caring for her cantankerous old Uncle Frankie, her only surviving relative.

Frankie Callahan, an 82 year old ex-postal worker from County Clare is a man born in the wrong time and place. Seeing himself as an ageing gunslinger of notorious legend, he babbles in the poetic vernacular of a texas ranger and won’t let a soul test his courage, even the doctor that gives him his death sentence.

As Saoirse prepares to lose what is left of her family her efforts to make Frankie’s final days peaceful are thwarted by the announcement of his dying wish, to hold up the local bank.
